When was the last time every hair on your arms stood up? … full on goose bumps!?
I recently interviewed Chris Spurvey for my podcast. A really lovely man who lives in the most eastern point in Canada and in fact is closer to Ireland than most fo the rest of Canada. He loves to walk his beautiful dogs – even in many feet of snow!
His business now is helping business owners with sales – without being salesy.
Most people tell me that sales is one of the most difficult aspects of getting into business. Chris shares his approach – which is all about providing value and being of service vs selling and “buy my stuff”
We moved into talking about vision and goal setting and goal attainment. As he started to describe this new technique for really embedding goals, the things that we want to achieve …. well, the hairs on my arm started to stand up.
It was truly the most amazing experience – spooky and that’s spooky good!
He said that he writes down his goals twice every day.
Some times when I talk to people and ask them “what are your goals?”
Most people are not really sure what their goals are, or their goals are wishy-washy and non-specific.
Action for you right now:
I am going to encourage you right now to get out a pen and some paper and write down 2 solid goals.
What do you want to achieve? What do you want your business to be like in 6 months? in 12 months? in 3 years?
Write it down. Once you have written it down, please feel free to send it to me on ingrid@healthynumbers.com.au or just save it for yourself.
What else can you do?
Chris then went on to describe the effect pictures and drawing has on goal attainment. There is something about pen and paper!!
As Chris says he writes his goals down twice every day – give that a try and see what happens after a week, after a month.

The whole interview is terrific and the bit about goal attainment is towards the end if you wanted to skip all the way to there.
I’ve written and spoken previously about goal attainment and how important it is to have goals and work towards them. If you’ve never tried it before please just trust that it works!
Focusing on making business simple enough for everyone to understand.
