I was walking past a cafe in North Sydney this morning & I heard the Barista telling all the people waiting for their coffees “…of course it’s wrong. They never get it right. If they can’t get the temperature right, how could I trust them with my Super?”
The tall building across the road from the cafe has the signage of a leading Superannuation company & beside the signage is one of those electronic sign declaring the current time and the temperature.
According to the conversation at the Hole in the Wall” cafe, the temperature was completely inaccurate. It said “18 C” and according to the cafe crowd (I had paused to listen) “It’s clearly much colder”
I wonder if the insurance company realise the performance of their Funds is being judged by the accuracy of the temperature sign?
Many people find Superannuation difficult to understand and clearly this young person has eliminated this Fund as potential for their Super
And he is telling his audience. Is this a daily? hourly? A “Hot Topic” for the crowd waiting for coffees?
What decisions do you make about a business based on the peripheral information? or the accidental information – as in the temperature example. A friend of mine judges a cafe by how clean the milk nozzle is on the Coffee machine. We look for consistency in message and correlation between what is verbally offered and what we see in reality
Take a look at your business; what message are you sending to your potential customers with your accidental or non-intentional messages?
