Partnerships are a critical part of business. Nothing can be achieved in isolation. With the right partners a business can grow far beyond what it is possible to achieve on their own. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel when the right partner can be the one to provide that piece of your business puzzle.
Have you ever thought of a partnership with a “dingo”?
Yesterday I read a recently released report about the endangered dusky hopping mouse; a cute little Australian native nocturnal rodent specialised for the deep desert, characterised by its long, narrow hind feet and long tail with a dark brush on the end.
It turns out they prefer to take up residence in the same areas as dingoes live because in these areas the dingoes have reduced feral cat populations.
As a result the little dusky hopping mouse can live relatively free from fear of being eaten by feral cats, the report reveals. “The dusky hopping mouse’s biggest enemies are cats and foxes … but it was surprising to see they do quite well in the areas were dingoes are common.”
Isn’t Nature amazing! How clever are those little Australian native dusky hopping mice?!
This got me thinking about business.
While the dusky hopping mouse is not completely safe from being eaten by a dingo (because dingos are a real predicator) the little mouse can feel a degree of security in areas where the dingos’ numbers outweigh the number of feral cats!
OK, so it might be a tricky leap for some …. let’s take this to your business:
Who are the “feral cats” in your business world? and who are the “dingos”?
Of course the usual business partnerships are important.
It might also help to keep a look out for the dingos!
What could this look like in your business?
