If I were to ask you right now: why are you in business? or why do you want to start a business? I know many of you will answer “to make a difference.” (I know being your own boss is another key reason)
Let’s stick with “making a difference” for now
It’s absolutely the same for me and when I think about it, my whole life has been about “making a difference”
“So what does this have to do with the Leonard Cohen lyrics?” I hear you ask
Recently my attention was drawn to the lyrics and especially the line:
“Forget your perfect offering”
In business, and in life, we get SO caught up in things “being perfect” and that holds us back.
Maybe you can relate to this? Maybe there is something you want to do and you are holding back, waiting for it to be perfect?
For the past 5 – 6 weeks I have been working every single day with people from Pilates, yoga and fitness industry to move what they’ve done for years in studio and take it online. If you’re keen to read more about what we’ve been working on click here
Has it been perfect? Well…. that depends!
Have they been able to continue to take care of their clients? They sure have!
Have there been some bumps in the road? Absa-friggin-lutely!
Do they know more now about how to do things online than they did 5 weeks ago?You bet they do!!
Has it been easy? No! Not – at – all! Most are tired in ways they have not imagined, many are exhausted
Are they proud of what they have achieved? You bet they are! and so they should be!
Are their clients enormously grateful for every single session on line? You bet they are – I’ve seen and hear some of the emails of gratitude from clients and they bring tears to our eyes
Are they making a difference?
Yep! They most certainly are, in more ways than anyone could imagine
I started with the question “Was it perfect?”
Well…. I guess the answer is still “that depends” From where I stand I reckon every single action has been pretty close to some version of “perfect!”
So, let me ask you:
Is there anything right now that you are thinking about doing and are holding back, waiting for your perfect offering?
Stop doing that, Please! Stop putting off your brilliance! Remember….
Prolific beats perfect everytime
Done is better than perfect
… the future is bright!
